PURPOSE:To obtain the drivability meeting driver's demand by calculating an average value of the rate of change of the amount corresponding to driver's will, and changing the variable speed pattern to a corresponding variable speed pattern when a present rate of change is different from the average value by a specified value or more. CONSTITUTION:A control device 6 of a continuous variable transmission 4 calculates an average value of the rate of change of the amount corresponding to driver's will, for example, of the rate of change of throttle opening detected by a throttle opening sensor 11. When a present rate of change of throttle opening is different from a previously calculated average value of the rate of change by a specified value or more, the control pattern is changed to a control pattern corresponding to the present rate of change of throttle opening, and according to this control pattern, a CVT variable speed motor 44 is driven to control transmission gear ratio, variable speed of the continuous variable transmission 4. The drivability meeting the operation demand of a driver can thus be surely obtained. |
