PURPOSE:To easily obtain necessary sufficient engagement force by seaming a linear member on the outer surface side of an air bag reverse cloth having an annular form and engaging the linear member on the inner peripheral edge surface of the annular linear member which is projectingly installed on the outer peripheral surface of a gas generator. CONSTITUTION:An air bag 10 is formed into bag form by sewing a circular air bag obverse cloth 11 and an air bag reverse cloth 12 having the equal outside diameter through a peripheral edge part, and in the vicinity of the inner peripheral parts of the air bag reverse cloth 12 and the reinforcing cloth 14a and 14b, zigzag seams S are formed, and a linear member 15 is seamed on the seams S which are developed on the inside reinforcing cloth 14b. A gas generator 16 is inserted into an installation member 18a formed at the center part of an annular retainer part (installation member) 18 fixed on a steering 17, and in the air bag 10, the inner peripheral edge part is fixed in a superposed state with the inner peripheral edge part of the retainer part. Since the air bag 10 is held by the engagingly locking force between the linear member 15 and a pressing metal fitting 20, besides the nipping force between the pressing metal fitting 20 and the retainer part 18, the air bag 10 is firmly fixed against the force F generated in the cloth extension direction of the air bag 10 in expansion. |
