PURPOSE: To easily measure the blood flow velocity in a blood vessel by constructing a wire from a flexible, slender tubular element, a coil spring supported against the terminal of the element, and a transducer supported against the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A guide wire 101 comprises a flexible slender element 102. The element may be in the form of a hypotube, and a core wire 103 made of stainless steel or the like extends through the hypotube 102 in order to impart rigidity and torque durability to the wire 101. A coil spring 106 attached to the hypotube 102 by soldering or the like is constructed of two parts, one part 106b being made of stainless steel, the other part 106b made of a palladium alloy, etc. A transducer 111, e.g. a piezoelectric crystal, is supported by the terminal 109 of the coil spring 106 and attached thereto with a tungsten oxide filler epoxy 112, etc. The transducer 111 is provided with front and rear contacts 116, 117 and connected to a two-conductor wire 118. |
