A ventilation slot valve that is both operationally safe and discrete in appearance is made of a flat channel sleeve (2), which is inserted in the slot opening so as to cover the edge thereof with a narrow flange (16), an associated oblong valve plate (14) in its closed position being located entirely inside the front opening of the sleeve. Between each of the ends of the oblong valve plate (14) and a rearmost inner area (40) of the channel sleeve is arranged a projector lock (46) of the spring actuated, pressure actuated type, and these opposed locks are connected with the valve plate (14) in a manner such that the latter may at each end be pressure actuated for subsequently being projected a short distance even if the valve plate is not correspondingly released at its opposite end. The valve plate (14) may thus be brought into an open position by a successive pressure actuated release of its two ends, and it can be closed just by being pressed home for snap locking of the projector locks (46). The valve plate may have a discrete appearance without visible actuator means and almost as an integral part of the mounting surface. |
