PURPOSE:To synthesize a musical sound with the high degree of freedom without placing a load on CPU by providing an access mode switching means, and accessing a musical sound memory by a musical sound waveform generating means in normal operation and also accessing the musical sound memory by the CPU freely at need. CONSTITUTION:An information processing means (CPU) 2 generates a musical sound parameter of pitch, a rhythm, etc., in real time and outputs it to a musical sound generating means 3, which generates and outputs a musical sound signal based upon the output of the CPU and data read out of a storage means 1. Further, the access to the storage means 1 can be switched to the side of the CPU 2, so the CPU 3 accesses the storage means 1 at need to read data determining the characteristics of a musical sound, etc., processes the data properly, and writes the data in the storage means 1 or outputs it to a musical sound signal generating means 3. Consequently, musical sounds can be synthesized with the high degree of freedom without placing the load on the CPU. |
