PROTECTING APPARATUS FOR THERMAL PRINTING HEAD

PURPOSE:To protect a thermal printing head to reduce the functional deterioration thereof by operating a thermal printing head to generate heat and again melting the paraffin bonded to the thermal printing head to transfer the same to a paraffin removing part. CONSTITUTION:A current is allowed to flow to a thermal printing head 11 according to prehiminarily prepared printing data to generate heat and the paraffin of the screen printing manuscript paper 5 between the thermal printing head 1 and a platen 14 is melted. When the printing data of one line is printed, a carriage 12 is moved by a carriage feed means 13 and the thermal printing head 11 is positioned on a paraffin removing part 17. By allowing a current to flow to the thermal printing head 11 to generate heat, the paraffin bonded to the thermal printing head 11 is melted to be transferred to the paraffin removing part 17. The screen printing manuscript paper is fed by a paper feed means 16.
