PURPOSE:To obtain the heat exchanger having excellent appearance and quality by inserting brazing materials, which are molded to a wire shape and are packed with a flux in the longitudinal grooves on the peripheral surface, into the brazing material insertion holes provided on plate fins in the position on the upper side of tubes and brazing the tubes and the plate fins. CONSTITUTION:The flux 3 consisting of a fluoride system, etc., in housed in a packed state into the flux holding grooves 2 of the brazing materials 1. The flux 3 is melted and fluidized by a temp. rise and the melt is supplied to the parts to be joined when the brazing materials 1 are disposed in the parts to be joined and are heated. The surface oxide films are then broken down. The melt flows down along the plate fins 20 from the apertures of the holding grooves 2 upon melting of the flux 3 and enters the parts to be joined between the plate fins 20 and the tubes 10. The brazing materials 1 flow into the parts to be joined by the temp. rise and the brazing of the plate fins 20 and the tubes 10 is attained. The sticking of the flux is lessened in this way and the heat exchanger having the excellent appearance and quality is produced. |
