A vol. arrangement for measuring the quantity of gas produced by a reaction system has a container (2) filled with expanding liq. (1) and contg. a gas collection vessel (3) with a separation wall (4) dividing it into two chambers (5,6) and pivotably mounted at its lower end. Each collection chamber has a gas inlet. The number of times the collection vessel tilts is counted. The vessel tilts between positions in which one or other chamber is filled with gas and the other's inlet is open.
