A roaster for coffee beans in small quantities, e.g. for use in coffee shops, uses a blower for hot air to create a fluidized bed of beans. The hot air is blown against the bottom of the roasting chamber eccentrically through at least two injection channels. Their outflows describe an angle of 0-30 deg. with the centre line of the chamber in the tangential direction.
