PURPOSE:To generate a subordinate melody which varies in rhythm as a main melody varies by providing a subordinate melody generating means which generates the subordinate melody by determining a rhythm obtained by shifting a main melody rhythm quantized by a rhythm quantizing means with time as the rhythm of the subordinate melody. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with the subordinate melody generating means which generates the subordinate melody by determining the rhythm, obtained by shifting the main melody rhythm, quantized by the rhythm quantizing means quantizing the main melody rhythm included in information on the main melody, with time as the rhythm of the subordinate melody. The rhythm of the main melody is therefore shifted with time to obtain the rhythm of the subordinate melody. Consequently, the contents of the subordinate melody are varied variously depending upon the main melody. |
