PROCESS FOR CHANGING A STEP-BY-STEP VARIABLE GEAR

In known step-by-step variable gears, no torque is transmitted to the drive train during gear shifting. The new process overcomes this drawback and at the same time ensures an optimal torque profile. During gear shifting, an additional gear step is connected. The torque diverted to the additional gear step simultaneously reduces the engine speed. The change in engine speed depends directly on the diverted torque and is reduced through a closed control circuit.
