During the corona treatment of webs of material by the use of a high-power corona electrode, the ozone gas produced in its range of action is extracted. A portion of the extd. ozone is recycled to the corona electrode, together with a rare gas or a gas mixt. The recycled ozone is pref. cleaned by passing through an electrostatic filter.
