Prodn. of photostructurised layers involves (a) forming a layer of photosensitive mixt. contg. a fusible polymer/plasticiser dispersion (I), addn.-polymerisable ethylenically unsatd. cpd(s). (II), a photoinitiator (system) (III) and a thermally reactive cpd. (IV); (b) selective exposure; (c) removal of the unexposed areas; and (d) thermal after-treatment. To produce 3D objects, stages (a) and (b) are repeated until the required object is obtd., then stages (c) and (d) are carried out. (IV) is a thermal initiator, pref. decomposing at a temp. above the m.pt. of (I); or a cpd. forming thermosetting cpd. with other component(s) of the mixt., pref. an epoxide or melamine cpd. (II) consists of at least 2 cpds. with different reactivity. (I) is a plastisol or organosol. The mixt. contains cpd(s). evolving gas at elevated temp.
