Motor vehicle flexible drive coupling

The flexible coupling has plate components (1, 2) which are torsionally and elastically connected via spring assemblies (7) arranged in peripheral cut-outs (6) in the plate components. The assemblies (7) each consist of two springs (11, 12) which are arranged in succession in the direction of action and are connected in series in the power flow. The springs are helical but a first of the springs (11) has a single turn or only a few turns so that, at maximum compression it forms only a single plane on which the adjacent spring (12) rests statically. The first spring is of lower rigidity for idle running and has only a small length. The space inside the coupling is available for the second spring acting over the main operating range without being significantly impared by the first spring. @(14pp Dwg.No.1/6b)@
