The device is intended for applying lengths or pieces of fabric, particularly fabric which is coated on both sides with pile and which then displays a pile-free area (smooth-woven surface) next to the area of pile. The fabric is fed along to a seaming and sewing area fitted with a conveying device consisting of a pair of belts. In order to ensure that the seam to be created fits exactly to the pile and that no pile-loops are sewn into the seam, an interim device (8) is fixed on the framework of the conveying device (9) at the point where the seams enter, bearing two runners (1, 2), the lower one (1) fixed and the upper one (2) suspended and sprung on the interim device (8). |
