A probe (1) capable of penetrating and moving in a mass of material and comprising: a body, a front striking zone (3) and/or a rear striking zone (4) at axially opposite ends, to transmit pulses to said body, a striker piston (2), drive means for actuating said striker piston (2) to project it against a striking zone (3, 4) integral with the body, and a compressed air supply means for feeding the drive means, characterized by the fact that friction of the body, and any guide elements rigidly attached to the said body, in a powdered material is situated between a lower value f which is insufficient to hold the probe on recoil of the striker piston (2) and an upper value F preventing the probe from advancing under impact of the striker piston (2) on the striking zone (3, 4) so as to enable the probe to advance into the powdered material. |
