PURPOSE:To double the output torque by connecting a motor and a DC power source directly with a gate and employing the doubled-voltage driving method. CONSTITUTION:The four surface electrode pieces 2, 3, 4, and 5 and the four rear electrode pieces 6, 7, 8, and 9 of an electrostrictive disc rotor 1 are divided into four short-circuited pairs. In this time, the electric potential of the electrode 2 is the same as that of the electrode 5 in the first quarter of he period of frequency (f), as that of the electrode 3 i the second quarter, as that of the electrode 5 in the third quarter, and as that of the electrode 3 in the last quarter. Because the voltage applied between the four surface electrode pieces 2, 3, 4, and 5 and the four rear electrode pieces 6, 7, 8, and 9 is changed over alternately with frequency (f), the electric potentials of the electrodes 2, 3, 4, and 5 change every quarter of the period and act as a rotation electric field. Constant voltage V or -V is always applied between the surface and rear electrodes, doubling the action effect. |
