PURPOSE:To know a relative travel amount of a recording head in an easy and simple construction to improve the operability of a recording position setting performed by moving the recording head by a method wherein a scale is provided on a window of a cover member, and a marker indicating the scale is provided on a lever for loading or unloading the recording head on/from a carriage. CONSTITUTION:On a lever 15 for operating a hook 13 for mounting a head cartridge 9 on a carriage 11, a marker 17 is provided. The marker 17 indicates a scale provided on a cover 8 to make a printing position, a set position, or like by a recording head on the head cartridge readable. In an operation related to the travel of the recording head to the instructed position, the travel amount of the carriage 11 can be particularly known by the marker 17 on the lever and the scale provided on a window 8 of the device cover. |
