PURPOSE:To enable the stable polishing of the lengthwise face of a long section by applying the constitution wherein the long section is rotated in a cross sectional direction while maintained approximately at a constant position. CONSTITUTION:A long section is placed on a height positioning member (seating rail) 5, and kept on the external surfaces of rollers 1 at the guide grooves 11 thereof. In this state, when each of the rollers 1 rotates synchronously, the first side of the groove 11 rushes up the side of the section according to an increase in the rotational angles of the rollers 1. Consequently, the long section starts rotation in a cross sectional direction. In this case, a boundary area between the first and second sides of the groove 11 moves along a roller axial line. The long section, therefore, rotates approximately at a constant position, while kept on the external surfaces of the rollers 1, and the face of the long section is polished with a grinder. |
