PURPOSE: To obtain attenuating total-reflection optical parts where a highχ<(2)> polarity adjustment polymer layer can be used by making a dielectric medium include a specific polarity adjustment polymer layer and inserting a specific protection layer between the polymer layer and a reflection layer. CONSTITUTION: A reflection metallic layer 103 of an attenuating total-reflection optical product 100 used as a modulator of electromagnetic radiation includes at least one kind of metal having a work function in a range of 2.5 to 4.5eV and is formed with 100 to 1,000 film thickness. A polymer layer 107 includes a polarity adjustment polymer layer where the dielectric medium shows at least 50 deg.C glass transition point and a linear polarization susceptibility exceeding a 10<-9> electrostatic unit. A protection layer 105 which includes at least one of metal oxides and metal fluorides and >0.1μm thickness is inserted between the polymer layer 107 and the reflection metallic layer 103. As the result, a highχ<(2)> polarity adjustment polymer layer can be used.
