<p>Apparatus for transmitting data from the end of a rotating shaft 14 to stationary ground equipment 37, 38, 39, 40, the data being provided by transducers detecting temperature, velocity, torque etc, includes a modular assembly for each transducer, each module consisting of an axial emitter (LED) 17, 20, 23, 26 and means 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 for deflecting the light radially over 360 DEG circumference.
