PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material with excellent coloring properties, long shelf life and the high preservability of a recorded image by using specific salicylic acid derivative or at least one of polyvalent metal salt as a developer which develops color in contact with colorless or pale basic dye. CONSTITUTION:A salicylic acid derivative expressed by formula [I] part least one kind of its polyvalent metal salts are used as a color developer which develops color in contact with colorless or pale basic dye. In the formula, X is an alkylene group and a cycloalkylene group; R is an alkyl group and an alkenyl group. Y is an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or a halogen atom. Z is an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkoxyl group, a cyclohexyl group, a phenyl group, a phenoxy group or a halogen atom. In addition, l is an integer of 1 to 3; m is an integer of 0 or 1 to 4; and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 3. |
