PURPOSE:To execute magnification/reduction conversion of high quality by a simple processing by providing a conversion picture element position arithmetic means, a reference picture element extracting means, and a rewritable table which stores a preliminarily calculated conversion picture element density. CONSTITUTION:The position on an input picture corresponding to respective picture elements of an output picture outputted after line density conversion is calculated by a conversion picture element position detection circuit 2 as a conversion picture element position, and a picture element extraction circuit 3 selectively extracts an input picture element data near that conversion picture element position from a line buffer 1, following this information of the conversion picture element position. A conversion arithmetic circuit 4 consists of the rewritable table which stores the preliminarily calculated conversion picture element density based on a reference picture element information of the conversion picture element position information, rewrites the content following each conversion rate, selects and outputs a applicable part from the conversion picture element position information and the reference picture element information. Thus, the line density conversion of high quality can be easily executed. |
