PURPOSE:To improve workability for the jam of transfer paper or the fault of internal equipment and to sufficiently utilize space secured by extracting a photosensitive body by controlling an illumination means based on a signal from a detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When the jam of carried transfer paper occurs in the neighborhood of a transfer part, a developing unit cover 201 in which a developing unit 109 and a photosensitive body belt 106 are formed integrally is extracted in a direction of arrow head, and the photosensitive body belt 106 and the developing unit 109 are removed from the inside of a laser printer 101. At such a case, a CPU 304 detects the fact that an input port COVER is set at a high level, and lights a lamp 115 for illumination by setting an output port LUMP at a low level. In such a way, the workability in the processing of jam of the transfer paper or another maintenance can be remarkably improved. |
