<p>PURPOSE:To improve the operability for preparation of auto video recording by detecting a tape residual amt., calculating a recordable time and calculating a video recording time for a specified video recording time in proper quantities with the tape residual amt. CONSTITUTION:When an auto video recording mode is specified, a tape residual amt. of a cassette is detected by a tape residual amt. calculation / system control unit 2, and a remaining video recordable time is calculated for each of 1st and 2nd video recording modes. Then, when a desired video recording time is set, a video recording time for the 1st and 2nd video recording modes respectively is calculated for the purpose of the video recording in proper quantities corresponding to the remaining tape of the cassette. A total amt. of these lengths of calculated video recording time is equivalent to the set video recording time, and this is the video recording time by the remaining tape of the cassette. When the video recordable time calculated with a video recording mode for which tape speed is slower than the set video recording time is short, alarm information is generated because the video recording for the set video recording time is infeasible on the remaining tape of the cassette. By this method, the operation and preparation for auto video recording in a dialogical form is performed, thus improving the operability.</p> |
