PURPOSE:To attain the focus and exposure intended by a photographer by setting an area for the focus and exposure adjustment with respect to an object based on binarized information of picture information. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 25 receiving cursor position information obtains a minimum and a maximum value of X, Y coordinates of a block indicated by the cursor position information as to a binarized data already inputted. The values are fed to X, Y direction area setting circuits 26, 27, where the range in the X, Y directions is set. An AND circuit 28 takes AND between the ranges in the X,Y directions to output the area information to area gates 3, 11. The area information outputted to the AND circuit 28 is also fed to a mixer 29 and the area is displayed on an electric view finder 30. Thus, the area in which an automatic focus adjusting device and an automatic aperture adjusting device is controlled is set. |
