Specifically, trivalent arsenic impurity in the anhydrous hydrogen fluoride is oxidized to a non-volatile pentavalent arsenic compound. The resultant mixture is distilled to recover high purity anhydrous hydrogen fluoride with low levels of arsenic impurity.
