The illumination system (1) is arranged outside the optical axis (2) of the microscope lens. It has one mirror in front of the optical axis which direct the illumination light through the microsope lens to the object point (10). - A primary deflector (4) in front of the optical axis is so formed that it only deflects a part of the illumination light at an inclined angle close to the axis to the object point. A secondary deflector, in or behind the optical axis of the microscope lens, deflects another part of the illumination light vertically, or close to the optical axis in the same way as the first deflector. |
