PURPOSE:To eliminate a center omission phenomenon by allowing peripheral beams to be projected on peripheral objects to be expanded in diameter ore than a center beam to be projected on a center object and then projecting the beams. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral beams to be projected on the peripheral objects are made to expand in diameter more than the center beam to be projected on the center object and those beams are projected. A light emitting element 1 has square light emitting diodes 1a, 1b, and 1c mounted on a substrate 1d and light emitting diode patterns D1, D2, and D3 are provided on the surfaces of the light emitting diodes 1a, 1b, and 1c. The light emitting diode D2 is smaller than the light emitting diode patterns D1 and D2 to enable the high-density beams to be projected on the object. Consequently, the center omission phenomenon is precluded and the high-accuracy range finding operation can be expected. |
