2076977 9112954 PCTABS00007 A control assembly (124) to control the rate at which a food material is conducted to die cavities (126) of a rotary press (100) including a die plate (104) forming a multitude of the die cavities (126) and means to force the food material into the die cavities, to mold the food material therein into tablets and then to eject the tablets from the die cavities, the control assembly (124) comprising a roller support assembly (502); a first roller (504) rotatably supported by the roller support assembly (502); a second roller (506) rotatably supported by the roller support assembly (502) and located adjacent the first roller (504), wherein the first and second rollers (504 and 506) form a feed gap (530) therebetween to receive the food material, and wherein the second roller (506) is also supported for movement toward and away from the first roller (504); adjusting means (510) connected to the roller support assembly (502) to move the second roller (506) toward and away from the first roller (504) to vary the size of the feed gap (530) and roller drive means (512) connected to the first and second rollers (504 and 506) to rotate said rollers to pull the food material through the feed gap (530) and to direct the food material to the die plate (104).
