PURPOSE:To stabilize toner concentration even after exchanging a cartridge for a new toner filled cartridge and to form a stable printed image by detecting the toner concentration of developer transferred in a developing means and supplying the toner of a quantity corresponding to short toner concentration in accordance with the detected result. CONSTITUTION:As for the replenishment of the toner to a developing means 5 after exchanging for a toner replenishment means 67, the toner of the quantity corresponding to the short toner concentration is supplied in accordance with the detected result obtained by detecting the toner concentration of the developer D which is removed and collected from an image supporting body 2 by a cleaning means 21 and transferred in the developing means 5 by a developer circulating reproducing mechanism 68 by a detection means 70. Therefore, the toner concentration of the developer D in the developing means 5 is not changed even after exchanging the original toner replenishment means 66 for the new toner replenishment means 67. Thus, the image is always formed with the stable toner concentration. |
