PURPOSE:To enable receiving side to take proper measure by sending an RTC signal and then sending an EOP signal to which a facsimile information area is added in which information such as cause of interruption etc. is set, when transmitting side interrupts message communication. CONSTITUTION:In a facsimile communication system that follows CCITT recommendation T.30, when message communication is to be interrupted, the transmitting side sends out an RTC (control return) signal and then sends out an EOP (procedure end) signal. During constitution of the frame of the EOP signal, a facsimile information field (FIF) is added and information relating to abnormality that caused interruption of communication etc. is set to the field. On the other hand, when the receiving side receives the RTC signal after starting message communication, the receiving side waits for the EOP signal. On receiving the EOP signal, the receiving side can know whether it is interruption of communication or normal completion, and in the case of interruption, it can know the cause of interruption etc. from the content of the facsimile information field (FIF), and can take proper measure. |
