<p>PURPOSE:To make a jammed paper easy to remove by detecting the occurrence of jam of transfer paper in a copying machine, and opening the upper half of the body of the copying machine automatically by a jam detection signal thereof. CONSTITUTION:When paper is fed correctly, a detecting element S1 detects the transfer paper in t1 second after the start of revolution of a resist roller 11, and after t2 second of this detection, a detecting element S2 detects the transfer paper, and a memory 32a stores the time t1 second and t2 second. When a clock circuit 32b neasures time upon starting of revolution of the resist roller 1, and in case when the element S1 fails to detect the transfer paper within the t1 second or when the element S2 fails to detect the transfer paper within the t2 second after detection of the transfer paper by the element S1, a diagnosis part 32 judges it as paper feed jam, and emits an operation instruction of a control part 31 and a reversible motor 33. Namely, the part 31 stops the driving motor, and a movable bushing 35 is moved to the right by the revolution of the motor 33 until it contacts a microswitch MS2 and is stopped by it, whereby the cover is opened.</p> |
