<p>PURPOSE:To perform stabilized regeneration by judging the finish of regeneration from the integrated value of reduction in particulate amount grasped by dividing into recombustion process amount and trapped amount. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 41 calculates the recombustion process amounts per unit time for each divided operation range according to the values detected with an outlet temperature sensor 33 and trapped particulate amount per unit time. The amount obtained by subtracting the trapped amount from the recombustion process amount is assumed to be the amount of reduction and integrated for every unit time. Whether the regeneration of a trap 3 is finished or not is determined by comparing the integrated value with a predetermined reference value. Since the reduction in the particulate amount is grasped separately for the recombustion process amount and the trapped amount, those amounts are known accurately, even if operating condition and exhaust temperature condition vary, according to the variation. Since the total amount of reduction is obtained by integration those amounts are obtained accurately according to the transient changes and exhaust gas temperature changes.</p> |
