PURPOSE:To obtain the title fabric imparted with characteristics like the thermal insulation, water-absorptivity, etc., inherent in ceramic particles without impairing the properties inherent in the original fiber by swelling treatment of the fibers constituting a knitted fabric followed by encapsulation of fine ceramic particles into the fibers. CONSTITUTION:A knitted fabric composed of cotton, best fiber or wool is swollen using an organic solvent prepared by incorporating dimethylformamide or N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone with dinitrogen tetroxide or a water-based solvent such as cuprammonium or alkali aqueous solution, and immersed in a treating liquid containing a bleaching agent and/or dye mixed with fine ceramic particles of specified size followed by heating and pressurization to effect the encapsulation of the ceramic particles into the pores of the swollen fibers followed by washing and drying, thus obtaining the objective knitted fabric. |
