PURPOSE:To provide the subject fiber having specific physical properties such as relative viscosity in sulfuric acid, strength and elongation at break, exhibiting high strength, high modulus and excellent dimensional stability under heat and useful as a rubber-reinforcing material such as tire cord and cord for transmission belt or a material for seat belt, fishing net, sewing thread, tent, rope, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber has a relative viscosity etar of >=3.0 in sulfuric acid, a strength of >=13g/d, an elongation at break of >=17%, an initial modulus of >=40g/d, a dry heat shrinkage of <=2%, a boiling water shrinkage of <=4% and a birefringence ( n) of 60X10<-3>. |
