Signalling railway track section occupation - applying voltage at one end and evaluating at opposite end

The railway signalling practice method applies a voltage (Uc) across the track rails (A, B) via a pre-resistance (Rc) at one end (c) of each track section. The voltage obtained at the other end of the latter is evaluated to detect the occupation of the track section. The evaluation is effected by detecting the voltage jump upon a rail vehicle entering or leaving the track section. Pref. the applied voltage comprises a LF signal, with evaluation of the phase shift at the second end (D) of the track section. ADVANTAGE - Reliable under all weather conditions.
