PURPOSE:To widen the range of deodorizing function and to provide action as the so-called catalyst of exhaust gas by a method wherein a liquid mixture prepared by mixing a fine deodorant powder with an aqueous solution of water-soluble sodium alginate is dispersed in an acid to form an alginic acid gel containing the fine deodorant powder and the hydrogen ion of this gel is replaced with a metal other than alkali metal. CONSTITUTION:An aggregate of particles wherein zinc oxide, titanium dioxide and a water molecule are tightly bonded is mixed with an aqueous solution of sodium alginate to prepare a liquid mixture which is, in turn, dripped in an aqueous hydrochloric acid solution and the sodium ion of sodium alginate is replaced with the hydrogen ion of hydrochloric acid to settle a granular alginic acid gel containing the particle aggregate. This settled alginic acid gel is taken out of hydrochloric acid to be washed with distilled water and the washed gel is immersed in an aqueous copper sulfate solution and the hydrogen ion of alginic acid at least on the surface of the alginic acid gel is replaced with the copper ion of copper surface to form copper alginate which is, in turn, washed with detailed water and dried to afford a deodorant having a metal supported thereon. |
