The freewheel (1) for two drive directions has two parts ie a hub (2) on which a sleeve (3), can rotate. Sets of pawls (4, 5) are controlled by a control (6) consisting of an adjustable control-ring (7). The control (6) also has a cam (8) joined to the driving free-wheel part (2, 3) and comprising at least one contact cam (14) tensioned by a spring (13, 45). The control-ring (7) has two sets of switch openings (15, 16) the first set of which matches support openings (17, 18). The driving free-wheel part (2, 3) is moved towards the control ring (7) supported on the contact cam (14) until it rests against a stop-piece (11, 12) on the cam (8). USE/ADVANTAGE - The torque transmission direction is controlled by the rotary direction of the driving free wheel part.
