An image recording device has a housing contg. a print head for line recording facing an opening in the housing wall and a colour ribbon cassette contg. an elongated pressure element facing an opening. The housing and cassette are joined together with the aperture edges locked in a defined relative operating position. The pressure element has latching journals (26) at both extended ends which are fitted under pressure into latching notches (25) on either side of the pressure element's working position in a frame (22)m in the housing. USE/ADVANTAGE - Suitable for thermo-transfer printer. Colour ribbon cassette can be simply and rapidly attachedto housing and aligned without further adjustment.
