Rear projection lens assembly - has vertical corrugations in surface towards viewer and scatter layer on rear surface

The rear projection lens is made of transparent plastics. Its front surface towards the viewer has a vertical corrugated or grooved lenticular structure (2). The rear surface of the lens has a scatter layer (3), applied by spraying or casting, and containing scatter bodies, pref. of ground quartz. These can be embedded in the plastics. An anti-reflection coating (4) can be sprayed or cast onto the front lens surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simplicity, and low production cost of near projection lens for open-air film projector.
