To produce building blocks and components, to develop walls and other construction parts, untreated used paper is softened for 24 hrs. in water, and the wet material is reduced in a shredding type appts. The damp and reduced material is mixed with cement in a ratio of about 6:1 in a cement mixer with water feed. The mixt. is placed in a mould and compressed. After moulding, the block is dried in air for two to four weeks. The mould, filled with the mixt. is subjected to a given pressure. Increased cement content increases the compression strength of the building block. A reinforcement can also be introduced into the mixt. in the mould. ADVANTAGE - Gives lightweight building blocks, with an unlimited supply of free raw material for the additives.
