The digital information transmission system has two-wire conductors (1) with both ends ferminated by resistors (4,5), adjustment circuit (33,34,39,40) to adjust the steady state voltage of the conductors (1) within defind limits, and connected stations (ST) each with transmitter (9), receiver (10) and controller (11). Each station (ST) includes a monitoring device (24-27) to monitor the drive current of the transmitter, and cut off the receiver (10) whenever the current exceeds a pre-determined value. ADVANTAGE - Avoids data collision.
