PURPOSE:To prevent the scattering of active carbon fine powder so as to improve the efficiency of work by adding specified amount of distilled water to fine-powder-form active carbon and agitating it into paste form, and charging it into the sintering mold of a sintering device, and applying high voltage while pressing it so as to sinter it into an electrode body. CONSTITUTION:An electric double-layer capacitor is constituted by impregnating polarizable electrodes with electrolyte. When manufacturing the polarizable electrode 20, fine-powder-form active carbon whose powder dimension is 20mu or less is weighed, and distilled water of 5-15% of its weight is added to it and is agitated into paste form. Next, pasty active carbon is charged into the sintering mold of a sintering device. And the charged active carbon is pressurized, an high voltage is applied to make it into an electrode body. This way, the scattering of the active carbon is prevented, and the accuracy in weighing can be improved, and also the handling in charge can be made easy. |
