In current technology, screen dumps to a printer are transfered on the system bus through a serial/parallel port to a printer. This effectively locks up the computer while the print is proceeding. In the present device the printer is connected directly to graphics driver device (CG, BWS, VS) which normally drives the screen (AE). In order to simplify switching mechanism the printer is equiped with an integral pixel data converter (DPS) to receive pixel data direct from the graphics driver. ADVANTAGE - Data transfer considerably accelerated.
