The first and second cooking members (10, 12) are engageable to form, when engaged, a steam confining cooking chamber (40). In some applications, the first member (10) is a bottom member; in other applications, the first member (10) is a top member. The weight of the first and second cooking members (10, 12) can be chosen to duplicate low-pressure, pressure-cooker results. The second cooking member (12) may be microwave-transmissive or microwave-reflective. Two optional microwave-reflective, invertible, accessory pan members (44, 46) one perforated (46) and one imperforated (44), may be employed with the first and second members (10, 12) in various combinations.
