PURPOSE:To relief a rise in the pressure in the sample space in a spacer which holds the distance between two opposite flat plates with X-ray transmission windows and to improve the safety by boring a run-off opening for a sample in part of the spacer. CONSTITUTION:The spacer 3 is provided with the rectangular sample space whose area is large enough to include parts corresponding to the X-ray transmission windows 1c and 2c and a groove part 3a as a run-off passage for the sample. Sample containers 4 and 5 have a window for exposing the windows 1c and 2c, a seal surface formed of an O ring 8 along the window opposite chips 1 and 2, and a seal surface formed of the O ring 8 between containers 4 and 5. The space enclosed with those three seal surfaces includes the sample space. The spacer 3 is mounted on the chip 1, the observed sample is applied inside it by tritration, and after it is covered with the chip 2, the containers 4 and 5 are clamped with a screw 6; and then the respective seal surfaces formed of the O ring 8 are given a necessary sealing function and an excessive sample overflows from the compressed sample space through a groove part 3a to relieve the rise in the pressure in the sample space. |
