The device for sealing containers by a heat-sealable cover foil has a lower frame with container holder, and an upper frame with heatable sealing plate. A shaft (36) swivel mounted centrally in the upper frame (2) has at least one eccentric (55, 56) located adjoining the sealing plate (8) which is set in the upper frame on several fastening elements (39) vertically displaceable relative to the underneath of the upper frame. The sealing plate can be moved away from the upper frame against the force of at least one spring (42) by means of the eccentric. In the upper frame adjoining the frame member (3) for the container (5) there is a separating device (9) which is also displaceable vertically relative to the underneath of the upper frame and movable against spring force by an eccentric (57) adjoining the separating device to move same against spring force. The end of the shaft remote from the swivel point of the upper and lower frames is connected rotationally secured to a locking disc (58). USE - Heat-sealable containers.
