A kneading machine has two adjacent kneading chambers with their kneading tools preferably running parallel at different speeds e.g, in opposite directions; these chambers are connected by holes running across the axes of the tools. The first chamber has the feed inlet, the last has the outlet, and there are preferably more than two such chambers arranged in series. The kneading tools are arranged sideways or superimposed; the casting (or casings) has a disconnecting line at right angles to the tool shafts, where the part of the casing remote from the bearing can be moved off the kneading tools and their bearing.
