PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for removing a protective plate for protecting an optical element and to contrive the reduction of electric power consumption and the improvement in the electrical and optical life of the optical element by integrating the above-mentioned protective plate with a body part by means of a hinge. CONSTITUTION:The body part 1 has a light emitting element in the aperture and contains the protective plate 3 connected by the hinge 4 to the inner side of the inlet in the aperture. The protective plate 3 consists of a metal having a good electrical conductivity. The protective plate falls to the inner side of the aperture when an optical fiber 9 is inserted into the aperture at the time of the connection of the optical fiber. The protective plate 3 and an electrode 6-1 for connecting a power source side Vcc and an electrode 6-2 for connecting a light emitting element side Vcc are then brought into contact with each other. The electrode 6-1 for connecting the power source side Vcc comes into contact with a lead 5-2 for connecting the power source side Vcc via the protective plate 3. The need for removing the protective plate at the time of use is eliminated in this way. The electric power consumption is thus reduced and the life of the optical element is prolonged. |
